Ingredients :
For Gravy :
- 2 Tomatoes
- 1 tsp Oil
- 1/4 tsp Mustard (Rai) Seeds
- 5-6 Black Pepper Corns
- 1 Clove (Lavang)
- 5-6 Cashewnuts/Kaju
- 1 Dry Red Chilli
- 1/4 tsp Melon Seeds(Magajtari na bi)
- 1/4 tsp Jeera (Cumin Seeds)
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
- 1/4 tsp Garam Masala Powder
- 2 tsp Sugar
- Salt To Taste
- 1 tbsp Curd/Yoghurt
Other Ingredients :
- 300 g Okra/Lady Finger/Bhindi
- 1 cup Peas (Vatana)
- 1/2 cup Sliced Capsicum (optional)
- Finely Chopped Coriander To Garnish
Method :
For Gravy : Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan, add rai,lavang,cashewnuts,magajtari na bi, dry red chilli and jeera. Add chopped tomatoes and dry spices. Mix everything and let it cook till tomato softens. Once everything is cooked, pour the gravy in the blender and add curd to it. Blend to make it smooth puree. and keep it aside.
Wash and chop each bhindi in 2-3 pieces. Heat 1 tsp oil and saute chopped bhindi. Add salt and cook the bhindis till they soften. Add boiled peas and chopped capsicum to bhindi. Add the gravy and mix well until the gravy coates bhindi and peas properly.
Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot with rotis.
